Memorial Day Cookouts...and a Birthday!

Sunday we went over to Steve & Kerrie's for a cookout and some swimming. I DID NOT go into the pool because it was WAY too cold for me.

Katie did great in the water with just her arm floaties. She even made a lap across the pool without any flotation device at all. I guess her swim lessons are starting to pay off!!! GO KATIE!!!
At first, Sophie preferred the boat to the water, but she eventually got into the water and then refused to get out. Even with an ice cream bribe, she still refused to get out!!!
Charlie didn't last too long in the cold water, but he did enjoy sitting on the deck and watching all the action in the pool.
Shortly after the kids got out of the pool, it was time for us to get Katie home and settled in for the night. Usually after spending time having fun, it takes her quite a while to wind down.

Monday, we went over to my Dad's for a cookout and Kay's Birthday.

Katie spent some more time in the water. Pop had a small blow up pool for her to splash around in. The only problem was that she found it more fun to splash everyone around the pool..the little stinker!!!

After she got bored in the pool, it was on to some T-Ball. She hit, we fielded...this kid can hit. She nailed one at me that left a red welt on my arm for 2 days!!! WHAT A SWING - THAT'S MY GIRL!!!!

It was nice to have so much family time last weekend.

Thank you to all of the veterans out there who have sacrificed their lives so that I can have weekends like this.
