The procession & first pitch ceremony kicked off at 10:00am.
"The Star Spangled Banner" was sung by Isabelle Kristy, Kelsey Sather and Kristen Turgeon.
The softball "Prayer" was read by Jessica Evans:
"Lord, give me the strength to hit the ball
And if I do don't let me fall
Help me to pick the pitch that's right
Then let me knock it out of sight.
Then let me run with deer-like grace
Don't let me miss but tag first base
Then on to second, stay with me, Lord,
Cause this one out, we can't afford.
Then let me zoom like a flying bird
Right down the line and on to third

First game, many of the girls used the "Tee" to hit the ball.

The first game down and we now realize what we need to work on with these girls. This is the first time we have even had the girls on a real field, so it was rather obvious that they need to be taught the "rules of the game" and what to do with a ball once it is hit into play.
My assistant coach, Jim, and I will come up with a plan to work on some of these things with the girls.
