Thursday Clinic Visit

Today's clinic visit marks the end of the second cycle of Phase IV for Kaitlyn's treatment. She received a blood draw and a shot of Methotrexate. Her white blood cell counts look good and she should be OK to start the next cycle of this phase next Thursday as long as her counts remain high enough. If her next phase starts next Thursday, she will receive another lumbar puncture with intrathecal (in the spine) chemotherapy treatment. Until then, she is off the oral chemo and steroids...YEAH!

While we waited for Kaitlyn's chemo order to come up from the pharmacy, Mike & I found ourselves having a conversation with a man whose daughter was in her second year of treatment and they are looking forward to finishing up treatment in August. He and his daughter gave us hope that it does get easier and it will someday be over.
