Bella's Ball

Tonight, we were the fortunate recipients of 3 free tickets to Bella's Ball, a night of dinner, dancing, and auctions to honor the memory of Isabella Capaldi and to raise money for Why Me Inc. I have to admit that it was more fun than I had expected it to be. Katie looked AMAZING. We spent most of the night on the dance floor even though my feet were KILLING me.  It was humbling to be in a room with SO MANY VERY GENEROUS people.

There were a few nurses at the ball, one being Nurse Marilyn who we all LOVE! Katie and her friends had a blast dancing with some of their favorite nurses!!!

There was also someone there walking around, constantly giving the kids gifts. We came home with SO MUCH stuff for Katie that it was a little ridiculous...lol.

Katie had an absolute blast dancing the night away with her friends.

She even had a chance at winning over $1,000 by playing Heads or Tails - Basically, it’s a raffle with a twist. Instead of a ticket stub, guests bought a strand of beads. Then, later in the evening, anyone who had bought a strand of beads played the "game". The band singer ran the game and told the participants that it was time to decide - 'heads or tails'. Then everyone would either put their hands on their head or on their 'tails'. If the coin toss revealed heads, all the people that had chosen heads got to stay on the dance floor, all the others had to leave.  Katie stayed in until one of the last 3 rounds and then was eliminated, but I think there was some cheating involved...lol.

Overall, we all had a pretty good time!!!

The evening raised about $15,000 for the Why Me Foundation - this makes my heart VERY happy.
