Today's clinic visit was routine...HELEN was finally back. It's been about 2 months since we last saw her. Katie was SO happy to see her "best friend".
Helen presented us with $200 worth of American Express gift cheque's from the Kaitlyn Langlois Memorial Foundation. We received this gift last year, but yet I still continue to be shocked by the generosity of people.
Some information about the Kaitlyn Langlois Memorial Foundation from their website...
The Kaitlyn Langlois Memorial Foundation was established in 2006, in memory of our 16 year old daughter Kaitlyn. During the three and a half years that Kaitlyn lived with cancer, our family experienced the many concerns that arise when faced with a childhood illness. Throughout this time we were very fortunate to receive the support and encouragement of family, friends and community. It was this support that carried our family through this challenging time and allowed Kaitlyn to focus on her plans and dreams to become a nurse and help others in need. We are very pleased that Kaitlyn’s dreams live on through the work of many volunteers and the support of generous donors of this Foundation.

Thank you Dan, Kathy & Michael Langlois for your generosity.
Today's clinic visit consisted of the following:
1) Port access
2) a blood draw
3) Vincristine (Chemo)
We were only at the clinic for about 2 hours today and there didn't seem to be too many other patients. We spent some time showing off Kaitlyn's Hannah Montana video to Dr. Keuker, Jen (Spencer) Costa (NP) and Helen. They all thought is was adorable.
This cycle will last 3 weeks and consist of the following:
Vincristine - Day 1 (same dose as previous cycles)
Methotrexate (oral at home chemo) - Days 1, 8 & 15 (same dose as the last cycle)
6-mercapturine (oral at home chemo) - Days 1-14 (same dose as the last cycle)
Dexamethasone (oral at home steroid)- Days 1-5 (same dose as the last cycle)
Next planned clinic visit will be in three weeks, January 21, 2010.
