Kaitlyn had a clinic visit this morning at 8:30am, originally scheduled for 10am. The clinic called us yesterday to move up her appointment in order to get us "in and out" as soon as possible. We were still there until 11:30am (three hours). Today, she got the PEG aspariginase shots in her legs and lots of hugs from the staff.
She finished up the steroids for this phase on Monday and her mood is finally returning to normal - thank God - just in time for Christmas! She is still taking her 6-mercapturine (oral chemo) and will continue that into next week.
We are scheduled for our next clinic visit on Friday when she will get a Methotrexate shot. Until then, I am going to try and focus on her excitement for Santa's arrival and try and forget about Leukemia for a few hours.
The warmest holiday wishes from our family to yours!
