Grafton Celebrates the Holidays

Every year, Grafton celebrates the holidays in style - with a town-wide event of various activities, or frosty stops if you will.

This year, the festivities began at noon on Sunday December 7th and wrapped up at 4:30pm with Santa Claus’ arrival at Grafton Common, the singing of Christmas carols and the lighting of the town tree.

This is one of my favorite "Grafton" events of the year. This year, there were 17 "Frosty Stops", but we only made it to 5 of them. Usually, Katie and I go to a few of the Frosty stops on our own while Mike works his mandated Sunday shifts at UPS. But, this year, we were lucky enough to have him join us. If that wasn't enough, there were flurries coming down to make for a perfect day to catch some holiday spirit!

We started out our day at Frosty Stop #2:
North Grafton Shopping Center
215 Worcester Street, North Grafton.

The traveling petting zoo. There were goats, llamas and even a camel!! Kaitlyn got a kick out of the camel!! I think they were going to do camel rides, but we left before they began.

Next Frosty Stop #4
Brigham Hill Community Farm
378 Wheeler Road, North Grafton.

Featuring the Grafton Land Trust, Grafton Shakespeare Club, Grafton Garden Club, Apple Tree Arts and horse drawn wagon rides!!!

Kaitlyn & I were giddy over the horse-drawn wagon rides. Mike, on the other hand, not so much because he is having some back trouble and the bumps on the wagon ride didn't help.

Country Plaza/Stop & Shop
100 Worcester Street, Grafton

Mrs. Claus & her Elves were giving out chocolate chip cookies in the bakery. I think the elves scared Kaitlyn, because they were just teenage boys dressed in ripped jeans and hooded sweatshirts with skulls on them. It was a very poor display of "holiday cheer". Mrs. Claus gave Kaitlyn a "gift" and we were on our way to the next stop.

Santa’s Village at Grafton Suburban Credit Union

Kaitlyn was all excited to see Santa Claus again and I was excited to get a few more pictures of her on his lap for the scrapbook!

Floral Elegance
204 Worcester Street, North Grafton

We picked up a “Reindeer Flower” for Kaitlyn and then went over to Spirit of Wellness.

They were supposed to be giving out free chair massages, but they weren't :-( Mike & I were bummed.

After this stop, it was definitely time to get Kaitlyn home for her nap.

Kaitlyn woke up just in time for the Finale Events on Grafton Common!

We met up with our friends, Jeremy, Rachel & Alison, the Graves family. Santa made his Grand Entrance at 4:15 pm on Grafton's own ladder truck.

No, these are not the ice sculptures, they are Kaitlyn & Ali!!! It was FREEZING up there!!!
