First, we started out at the YMCA for some Open Gym time. This started at 10:40am and lasted until 11:20am. Katie got to play some basketball, crawl through tunnels, climb over large blocks and roll down an incline.
Then on to Brown Bear Storytime at the "Y" where Katie got to listen to 3 stories. This started at 11:30am and lasted until noon.
After storytime, it was time to head home for some lunch and learning. We started out again with spelling her name, talking about the day of the week and the date, then the weather report. She drew clouds for today :-)
When asked what "learning activity" she wanted to do, she immediately responded, "WORKBOOK!!!" She absolutely loves doing her workbooks...lol.
My kid is a genius...the workbook she is holding is designed for PRE-K, ages 4-5 and has 309 pages. She has practically completed this whole workbook in 2 days...2 DAYS! I guess I need to rethink my lesson plans and make them a bit harder for my little Einstein...lol.
Finally bored with her workbook activities, we were on to music appreciation. We got out her instruments, turned on the Wiggles and let the marching band commence. She was too cute with her cymbals.
After music, it was time to quiet down for a nap, so I gave her a choice...TV or story before nap and she chose TV of course, which was fine with me because we already had storytime in the morning.
After her nap, it was back to the YMCA at 4:30pm for an "Apple Art" workshop. They first got to make an apple head with yarn and cloves.
Then, they got to use apple slices to "stamp" with. This was the messy part of the craft, but Katie had a blast painting.
Although quite busy, our second day of school was GREAT!
