Treatment may have ended for Katie, but the battle is far from over.

Please say a prayer for all the children who continue to fight childhood cancer day after day.

Fever Persists

Yesterday afternoon as I was using the computer down in the "teen room", posting my previous blog post, the nurse was back in the room taking Katie’s temperature and it had risen back to 102 degrees. So, it looks like we will probably be here at least until Sunday now. But they still don’t know what is causing the fever. All blood tests and cultures have come back negative so far. They tested her for a few different types of flu so until those results come back, they have basically quarantined Kaitlyn. She has to stay in the room and any staff that come in have to wear a plastic gown with gloves and a mask. Pretty scary looking if you ask me. They say it is standard for anyone that has been tested for the flu.

They gave her more Tylenol at 4am because she had a low grade fever and her temp was on the rise.

Kaitlyn’s boyfriend, Dr. Keuker, is the doctor on today and he just stopped by to tell us that we are here for another night.

We’ll see what today brings. Stay tuned...
