Easter Sunday

Our day started VERY early. Kaitlyn came into our room at about 5am, before the sun had even come up. She reported in to us, letting us know that the Easter Bunny had not come yet because there were no eggs in the living room. (There were, but they were just out of her immediate view. The eggs were strategically placed out of her view in case she got up in the middle of the night. We didn't want to be hunting for eggs at 2am.). She proceeded to talk my ear off for an hour until I finally gave in and let her get up to hunt for eggs.

6am and Katie was on the hunt!!!

The Easter Bunny left Katie a nice basket in the sunroom filled with all things Princess & the Frog...she got a Princess & the Frog movie, a doll, a Leapster game and a book.
The Easter bunny also left her some Tinkerbell socks...
And some Disney Dollars...how did he know??? lol

She also got another little bag in her playroom filled with some other Disney princess goodies...a small whiteboard, a hat, a notebook...($1.00 specials at Target....the Easter Bunny is very frugal :-)

MMmmmm....chocolate for breakfast :-)

After Kaitlyn collected all her eggs (which took about 5 minutes)...she was ready to head over to "Sophie's" house!

Mike & I tried to explain to her that it was WAY too early to go to Sophie's house just yet as the sun was just barely coming over the horizon...lol. We tried to convince her that she might want to go back to sleep for a little while, but she wasn't having that...she wanted to play her new Princess & the Frog video game!!! Although she refused to watch the movie because she thought it was going to be scary...lol.

We made our way over to "Sophie's" house at 10am. The girls were very excited to go on their egg hunt together, so we let them do that shortly after we arrived.

First, we tried to hold them back just long enough to get a nice picture of them together...you know how that goes...

And they were off... Charlie took the lead...
With Katie & Sophie close behind...

It didn't take them too long to clear the yard of eggs, but then there was ONE more...the GOLDEN egg...the kids couldn't find it, so Papa had to help them get it...thanks Papa!!! Sophie spotted it first, so she got to keep it and then Katie promptly threw a fit, so Sophie gave it to her...so sweet...thank you Sophie :-)

Katie shared some of her Jelly Bean's with Sophie....

The weather was absolutely perfect, so we spent most of the day outside enjoying the sun. The kids played in the jumpy house...

And then they played a little T-Ball with their big cousin, Patrick.

We also enjoyed a very nice brunch outside on the patio. The weather could not have been more perfect...it was a welcome change to the torrential rain that we had received the week before.

After a few hours, it was time to head over to my dad's for dinner. He had put out some eggs for Katie to hunt for at his house too. I don't think Kaitlyn is going to run out of candy anytime soon.

What can I say, the ham was DELICIOUS! and spending time with our family is always GREAT!

Today, we were greeted with a perfect day filled with sunshine and family! We are blessed!
