Treatment may have ended for Katie, but the battle is far from over.

Please say a prayer for all the children who continue to fight childhood cancer day after day.
Pray for their strength, resilience and healing.

YMCA Healthy Kids Day

Yesterday, we went to Healthy Kids Day at the YMCA. Being at an event called "Healthy Kids Day", I couldn't help but to stop and reflect on my "healthy kid". I thought about how she looked at this event last year and I am thankful for how far she has come in a year.

We started out trying to dodge the crowd that was gathered in the lobby of the YMCA and made our way downstairs to the gym where they had the "jumpy house". Kaitlyn couldn't get enough of this thing... she loves it!

After her time was up in the jumpy house, we made our way outside where there were a few animals (goats, ponies, cows & chickens). She went to pat the goats, even though they made her a little nervous.
Then it was over to the obstacle course. She ran through this at least 20 times without ANY help from mom or dad. It was like she was an old obstacle course pro!!! It must have been that tumbling class that she took last summer :-)

It was quite cold outside, so we made our way back inside for a kid's ZUMBA class...but she was too intimidated to actually try any of the dance steps...oh well, the music was fun at least :-)

Lastly, it was back to the gym for some more time in the jumpy house...this time, she had to wait in quite the line. Then, she wanted her face painted. She squeaked in at the last minute because they were starting to close up shop as the event was coming to a close.

After face painting, it was time to head home, which came with a fight because she was having too much fun. The event is only 2 hours long...they should definitely make it a longer event for these kiddies!!
Anyway, I am happy to see my healthy kid having so much fun running around and being, well...healthy!!!
